Does Daxxify, the New Botox in Bethesda, Maryland, Last Longer?

Does Daxxify Last Longer Than Botox?

You’ve undeniably heard of Daxxify by now, as its popularity is only increasing as more people learn about this exciting new wrinkle eraser.

What is Daxxify? How does it compare to Botox, and does it really last longer? Here’s everything you need to know about the new Botox in Bethesda, Maryland!

What Is Daxxify? How Is It Different Than Botox?

So, exactly what is Daxxify, and why should you be adding it to your to-do list in the upcoming months? It is the latest and greatest botulinum toxin injectable to hit the anti-aging scene, and its pre-release popularity is well earned.

This injectable recently received FDA approval in 2022. It’s formulated with daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm, which is in the same class as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.

Similarly to these impressive wrinkle-fighting treatments, Daxxify works by inhibiting the release of a chemical called acetylcholine and disrupting the nerve signaling process that causes muscle contractions. This essentially puts your muscles in a state of disuse by paralyzing and weakening them.

In a sense, Daxxify is similar to Botox, but they are not the same and should not be used interchangeably. Daxxify is a “naked” injectable, much like Xeomin, and is stabilized by a unique peptide technology which is what makes it last so long in the first place.

What Can Daxxify Treat?

At this time, Daxxify has only been FDA approved for the treatment of moderate to severe glabellar lines, which are the wrinkles between your eyebrows.

This makes it more similar to Dysport and Xeomin, as their FDA approval is limited as well. However, like Botox, additional Daxxify uses are being studied including medical uses.

Does Daxxify Actually Last Longer, or Is It All Hype?

What’s made this remarkable option such a standout injectable is how long it lasts compared to other botulinum toxin products. It’s true that it’s longer lasting than Botox on average, yielding results that last as long as six months on average.

Some patients have even seen improvement in their frown lines for up to nine months. This makes Daxxify particularly revolutionary, requiring only one to two visits a year to maintain your results, compared to a minimum of four to upkeep your Botox results.

So, it’s fair to say the hype surrounding Daxxify and its groundbreaking staying power is well deserved!

Is Daxxify Safe?

Daxxify has already undergone quite a few clinical trials and studies, proving its efficacy and safety. You can rest easy knowing this new injectable is actually quite safe, especially when administered by an experienced, licensed professional.

Daxxify has not shown any harsh side effects that other botulinum toxin products like Botox can have. Reactions at the injection site, such as the normal swelling, tenderness, and bruising, are not uncommon and typically not a cause for concern.

Risk of complications and side effects from Daxxify and other neurotoxins is greatly reduced when you work with a trained, reputable injector.

How Do I Know if Daxxify Is Right for Me?

The only way to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for Daxxify is by consulting with a board-certified injector. They are the only ones who can tell you if Daxxify is right for you. Keep in mind that Daxxify is currently only approved to treat moderate to severe frown lines.

Like with all elective aesthetic procedures, you should be a generally healthy adult with realistic goals and expectations for a treatment.

If you have certain neuromuscular conditions, have had negative reactions to botulinum toxin products in the past, or are nursing or pregnant, then Daxxify is not recommended for you.

How Much Does Daxxify Cost?

Revance Therapeutics, Inc., the manufacturers of the already beloved Daxxify, haven’t yet released an MSRP. There has been plenty of speculation though.

For reference, Botox is the highest priced neurotoxic injectable with an average of $10 to $25 per unit. Xeomin has an average price of $8 to $18, and Dysport with a standard range of $4 to $8. Daxxify is expected to follow a similar price range of Botox or Xeomin, or even cost more than its competitors because of its longevity.

Because Daxxify requires less visits per year to your aesthetic injector, it is not as much of a recurring cost as Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport. Even with a suggested MSRP, price will vary depending on the number of units used, the experience of your injector, and the location of their practice, as well as other factors.

When Will Daxxify Become Available?

This innovative wrinkle-fighting injectable is still incredibly new to the scene, having only announced its FDA approval in September of 2022. Its full launch is expected to be in March 2023. Further into 2023, Daxxify should be widely and readily available in most medical spas.

If you’re interested in Daxxify, it’s best to keep in contact with your chosen provider and inform them that you’re curious to try Daxxify. They’ll be your best source for determining when Daxxify is finally available in your area.
