Microneedling With Skin Pen®
SkinPen® by Crown Aesthetics is the first microneedling device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, clinically proven to safely and effectively treat facial acne scars for ages 22 and up. SkinPen creates controlled micro-punctures to stimulate the body’s natural wound-healing process, while minimizing cellular damage.
The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact. SkinPen is also effective at reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, large pores, and stretch marks. The SkinPen has also recently been approved by the FDA for the treatment of wrinkles on the neck, which allows us to serve many new patients during a time when “tech neck” and “zoom boom” have become a troubling side effect from hours spent on the phone and computer.
What To Expect During Microneedling With SkinPen Treatment
After thoroughly evaluating your skin and explaining the treatment to you, your aesthetician will begin by using a topical anesthetic on the treatment area to avoid discomfort. Then, using the SkinPen, the aesthetician will make a series of small pricks under the skin. These are typically not visible after treatment.
The pricks put your body’s defenses into action, stimulating the production of collagen and other healing compounds, which, in turn, smooth the skin and add volume, producing a fresher, younger look.
After this part of the treatment, a soothing serum (which also boosts healing) will be applied. You may experience some redness afterwards, but this will dissipate soon.
What Are The Results Of The Treatment?
In the days after microneedling, you’ll notice that your skin is smoother and more uniform, with fewer fine lines and more freshness. Scarring, age spots, large pores, and other imperfections will also be diminished.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Four treatments with SkinPen are recommended for best results. Some patients may require more based on the severity of their condition. We’ll go over all those details during your consultation.
