Behavioral and mental health issues are epidemic in the pediatric population. Common issues include ADHD, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) and behavioral challenges. These issues are managed by a team of different specialists including psychiatrists (medical doctors who specialize in diagnosis, developing treatment plans and can prescribe medications), therapists (licensed clinical counselors and licensed clinical social workers who provide therapy and training for managing symptoms) and your primary care team. As a pediatric medical home, all of the above services are available at the same location with the benefit of coordinated care.
